At the time of this writing, the election was two days ago. Results are still being tabulated and waiting on issues to be resolved before we will find out who won the Presidency. But my question today is “where are you” in all of this? Are you weighted down under the possibilities of who will be the winner? Are you feeling vindicated, overwhelmed, stressed, confused, angry, happy or a myriad of other feelings that come to the forefront of our emotions when faced with options that have such far-reaching consequences. For we know that the choices we made on that ballot are the ones we will have to live with and learn how to navigate in the days and years ahead. But whether you are facing any, all, or none of the above, there is something we, as Christians must always remember. It must always be what we focus on. It must soothe us, calm us, inspire us with confidence, direct our steps and bring peace to our emotions. And it is this: GOD HAS A PLAN – and HE IS IN CONTROL. Let me say that again . . . GOD HAS A PLAN and HE IS IN CONTROL — no matter what it looks like. He is still the same all powerful, all present, all knowing God He has always been and will always be!
As Christians, we must always keep everything we face, everything we do, every decision we make, every prayer we pray, every bit of counsel we give, everything we believe, everything we speak, must always be first, middle and last focused on THIS REALITY: GOD HAS THE PLAN, and GOD IS IN FULL CONTROL. The world doesn’t have that. They have to focus on what they see, hear, feel, taste and touch – what our physical senses tell us. The facts for the world are what the news or newscaster says. It’s what we’ve been told, or seen, etc. The world does its analysis based on what it determines are the facts and what those facts conclude. This should not be for the Christian.
We, as Christians, are to live “in the world, but not of the world”. Faith and trust in God should lead us to a place of peace and quiet confidence in the fact that God NEVER FAILS. God answers prayer. He honors your fasting, perseverance in the midst of trials, your commitment and consecration to Him and your obedience to both listen to Him and do what He says. 2 Chronicles 7:14 says: “if my people, who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked way, THEN will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin and heal their land”. I believe this with all my heart! God will honor the obedience of His children doing what His word says. He will always honor His Word and those who choose to follow it. Don’t believe what you see. See what you believe!
Did you humble yourself in prayer for this election? Did you seek His face and turn from any wicked way? THEN the promise is released to you. He will forgive your sin, and heal your land! What am I saying. GOD ISN’T FINISHED YET WITH YOU OR AMERICA! Trust that He is working where you and I cannot see. Have faith, confidence and peace in the fact that He has heard YOU and He will yet answer YOU.
We are in a new day, a new era. TODAY is the day that the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it”. It is time to STAND, and HAVING DONE ALL (all you can do), STAND! No backing off on our commitment to Him. Stand up and be counted! Who is on the Lord’s side? I am. Do not be discouraged or fearful. That is what the devil wants. Fear and discouragement are designed to get you off your real focus. Don’t forget who you are. You are a child of the King. It is time to stand in faith believing.
